has anybody seen this movie? I'm watching it right now on one of the premium channels on DirectTV. It looks pretty interesting so far (it just started)

Very very stupid movie. Can be fun to watch... but overall the plot is... lacking?

Is that the one with Val Kilmer? I thought it was alright. It kept me entertained.

Ya, with Val Kilmer. When Tedium started talking about the zipzaps, I stopped watching it to look up stuff on them and talk to others about em on icq and AIM.

But it seemed kinda cool.

Exploratory team goes to Mars.
The ship malfunctions
they almost run out of oxygen.
their guardian robot goes renegade
team must make it out alive and kill it.

that plot doesn't sound too bad from where i'm sitting.

but I think they shoulda added more dialogue because it was weak in that area.

I thought the movie was decent, and didn't feel like I wasted any money/time on it. But I liked Mission to Mars better. :p

Mission to Mars completely sucked... that is all.

You also like Camaros. I guess we'll never understand each other's taste. ;)

Oh come on, man. They go the planet and find a big face hidden under a mountain, which happens to kill all but one of the original members. Thent he rescue team, combined with the one man happen to have all the necessary equipment with them to record, decipher, figure out the code, and retransmit it, in order to get into a freaking ancient spaceship. And how can you even begin to believe all that crap that it shows about how they started life on Earth? Then the one fucknut decides to go with the Martians to some dumbass nebula.... That movie irks me to no end.

I side with Bandit here, MTM did suck.

Red Planet was pretty decent.

But umm, Supernova was a pretty cool movie, just didn't have great acting, but I liked the plot.

I guess Bandit just doesn't like this type of sci-fi movie

But I love Sci-fi... Event Horizon was one of the best scary sci-fi films in the last 10 years. Dune is one of my all time favorite movies, and I even like some of the campy old school movies, i.e. Tron. But these two movies came out the same exact time, had similar overall plots, and the dialogue wasn't very well thought out on either of them. I just can't stand them.

RS90 tried to make me watch Dune, i freakin fell asleep during it.

Bah... ingrate. In order to understand that movie you have to pay attention to everything! If you aren't paying attention, you won't follow it. But the plot of that movie is freaking awesome, which makes up for the lack of 80's CGI ability.

Well, the movie frankly, put me to sleep, it was one big bore

To each his own. I thought Event Horizon was quite possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. :p

The one film that always creeps me out and gives me the willies is John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness. Rent it. Its pretty scary.

ok, let me say this

i'm pretty desensitivized towards violence. I've seen many gory movies and shit. I didn't feel anything upon watching the first few minutes of Saving Private Ryan (the media made a big deal out of the gore in this part) or some of that other whack shit you see.

There's only 2 things i've ever turned my head away from.

Most scenes where a needle gets sticked in someone or their body is opened in any way during surgery (just during surgery, decapitations and other things like that don't bother me)

Hannibal . . . I couldn't even finish this trashy movie. It made me unable to finish it because it went way too far. I watched Silence of the Lambs and liked it. I thought Hannibal would be good, but boy, was i wrong.

Hannibal sucked ass!!! I want to see Red Dragon.

I love sci-fi movies, and hated Mission to Mars. Red Planet was ok... but the plot was still a little boaring. I mean, I'm supposed to beleive these little bugs made O2 on mars? This movie didn't take place 2000 years in the future, so I expected it to be a believable movie... guess not. THe part where he uses the rover as a radio is kinda cool though!!!

One of my favorite movies was Stargate SG1. Hell I even watch the show all the time now!

Nitpick...

The movie was called Stargate, not Stargate SG1. SG1 was the series.

Oh well :(

I like the series better. Now sci-fi is doing the thing where every Monday they play 4 episodes, they started with the first ones and are going to the new ones!!!! Too bad I hardly ever get to watch the TV with the sat.

Event Horizon OWNZ and it scared CrackFairy :D

For something like Saving Private Ryan or We Were Soldiers or Black Hawk Down to really effect you...you need to be in or have been in the service. Touches really close to home even if you haven't ever been in the thick

Surrounding yourself with enough of the right people can work in a pinch, too...

Red Dragon was The CoOlest. But S of the L was better.

Does Any one know any thing about "The Ring"?
