So, I bought a new "project"

Hauled home a 87 chrysler new yorker turbo this weekend, found it on craigs for $250, and bought it for $150! The FUF has already visited leaving me with a seized turbo, but I have a spare and throwing in a MP head gasket will make the motor last longer. For now the mods are all going to be cheap stuff. Gutted interior, open downpipe, MBC.... and a NX wet kit that i bought years ago and have never installed on a car. I also have a brand new set of m&h's Ill throw on it to. Right now I have no guess what it will run, but I will keep you guys updated!

I will try to take and get up pics as the build starts, but right now my camera is at my rents house.

For transaxle longevity:
Dump in-rad trans cooler.
Plumb in big-ass aftermarket cooler.

sadly, there are no grandpa stickers on it. Im planning in plumbing in a cooler and changing the fluid and filter once its on the road.

400hp? haha id be happy to get 200 out of this POS. For now Im going to install a spearco water injection kit, and turn the boost up to 14psi. Ive been told I have to drill and tap the mani to install nitrous and I dont want to do that (read... lazy). once I melt a piston or take out the tranny it will get upgraded to 87 t2 electronics and get a srt IC.

I dont know if you guys have seen this, but this car is my inspiration http://www.badassperformance.com/sdac/newyorker.html

I saw SDAC-Chicago's car run back when it was burgundy, smoking, and running 15s. It's come a long way.

Get a Ebay A2A Intercooler. Its cheap, works, and is pretty solid.

mines the same color and smokes really bad too! lol. Ebay coolers arent cheap enough for this project. Im making myself stick to parts I already have, and I already have the SRT unit. The good thing about using parts I already have is I have collected tons of turbo mopar goodies over the years, just havent had a home for them.

got the car all put back together on Sunday, new turbo (to me) and a mopar performance HG. The motor looked great inside, I was really expecting it to be all carboned up and it wasn't.

of course, after getting it all assembled it made it 100ft down the driveway before the passenger rear tire seized, and I had to back it back to the house. Turned out the spring that held the pads together broke, and was letting the pads walk around. Got it all fixed.

Ill get pics up for you guys after I get it all gutted, looks like a stock NY right now.
